An ad from 1983. If you won, you could buy a 181 for a very attractive price. Obviously, there cars were secondhand, because there were no new 181s in 1983. Probably ex-bundeswehr with repainted body: sahara, silver and oliv.
Maybe I start writing that book when I find a decent fotographer :-))
Is it Acapulco month? :-)) This time 2 pages from a couple of brochures (a German and a French pub). The pages looks alike, only 1 picture is different: the one with the acapulco! And both pictures are quite interesting. The first shows a white acapulco ???? The second one a red acapulco. The VW Acapulco was originally produced for a hotel resort: Las Brisas, Mexico. Those were red cars. The blue acapulcos were the cars that VW produced for the public.
Love those 40-years old magazines... some 'Gute Fahrt's', it is a men's thing!
this is the one... the one with a 181 ad. Nice cover.
A nice book about volkswagens which did serve at firebrigades. 104 pages of beetles, busses and the rest of the VW family in red. Its is written in German but don't worry, it reads like a Playboy.
In 1973 VW placed an ad in Playboy... featuring the VW Thing! This is a detail from the 2-page advertisment. Remarkable top.
