Belgian Army

A page from Vox (Belgian magazine for troops). In 1975 they published the subsitute for the Minerva jeeps. The Belgian army bought those cars very late, considering the date of announcement. vw181vox1975

patina stuff!

They have had their best times... but those doors are just fabulous. The came from a Bundeswehr Sanitätswagen. An ambulance version of the 181. Red crosses were added on the flanks, trunk and engine lid. sanitär

Ceci n' est pas un 181

Today's lesson: This is not a 181. It is a Pingo, a factory 181-replica from Uruguay. A 2 doors version with fiberglass body. Strange and rare vehicle (only 12 were made)... and the granny in the back? She likes it.vwuru
