Yellow Black acapulco

From a US sales brochure: a yellow Thing with black/white acapulco top. It is only a drawing, that colourscheme was never available.acapulco

Press release picture 1968

An obscure picture of the 181 prototype. This was probaly the first assembled car. The doors had very straight angles, these were rounded off in the next series of pre-production. The sun visors in pre-production cars were often (if not always) white, in production these were always black. prototyp 181a

Press release picture 1969

Allthough on the back of this picture there is the date of 20 aug. 1970 stamped on, this car is clearly a pre-production car from 1968 or early 1969. There is no VW logo in the front, even the embossed base for the logo is missing. And clearly only one rib under the doors.prototyp 181b
